Sometimes I want to make a cake, and I don't want to go to the store and buy cake flour. And by sometimes, I really mean always.<\/p>\n<p>Second confession: I have never bought cake flour. Not once. Never. Ever.<\/p>\n<p>Why would I? You can easily make it at home, with things you're bound to have on hand! Perhaps if I were to bake the Queen a special cake, I would try with some real cake flour and see if there was a difference, but for now I'm sticking with my homemade cake flour. It's just so easy and quick!<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->All you need is normal flour and cornstarch. For tools, have a tablespoon, a bowl, a sieve, and a 1 cup measure.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1439\" src=\"https:\/\/thekitchenpaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_9598.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><br \/>\nI start with an empty measuring cup. Take two tablespoons of cornstarch and put them in the bottom of the measuring cup.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1440\" src=\"https:\/\/thekitchenpaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_9601.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><br \/>\nFill the rest of the measuring cup with normal flour,<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1441\" src=\"https:\/\/thekitchenpaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_9605.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><br \/>\nFill it nice and full,<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1442\" src=\"https:\/\/thekitchenpaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_9612.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><br \/>\nLevel the top,<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1443\" src=\"https:\/\/thekitchenpaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_9615.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><br \/>\nthen sift the two together!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1444\" src=\"https:\/\/thekitchenpaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_9618.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"361\" \/><br \/>\nScoop it up and sift at least two more times.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1446\" src=\"https:\/\/thekitchenpaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_9626.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><br \/>\nMake sure it is totally mixed together! Use this in recipes calling for cake flour, and measure AFTER the sifting process.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1445\" src=\"https:\/\/thekitchenpaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_9620.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"273\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>How to Make Cake Flour<\/h2>\n<p>All purpose flour<br \/>\ncornstarch<br \/>\na seive\/sifter<\/p>\n<p>Dump two tablespoons of cornstarch into the bottom of a measuring cup. With a spoon, fill the rest of the measuring cup with normal flour, and level at the top. Sift the flour and cornstarch together at least 3 times, making sure it is fully mixed together.<\/p>\n<p>Ta-da! Cake flour!
