Due to the weather, I cross trained on both “easy” days — riding my bike on the first and skate skiing on the second. Since I had my TT on Wednesday, I was fine with taking both days a little bit easier. I ended up only doing 18 (again) for my long run, instead of 20, mostly due to the pain in my toes. I realize 2 more miles probably wouldn’t make much of a difference in the grand scheme of things, but I was at an easy bailing spot and knew things were NOT happy in my shoes. [...]

I didn't think 18 on the treadmill would be possible... but I think I just knew I HAD to do it. I wish I owned a treadmill, but I went to the gym and made sure to get a treadmill with a view (of outside), so I could visualize running outside! I just plug in my iPod and go! It does get a bit boring, but I knew I had specific times/goals in mind, which always makes the time go faster. If I'm just running with no plan I do NOT make it very far. Having a movie on would sure make the time go faster, but they never play anything good at the gym!
