I'm such a fan of your site and following your recipes for over 4-5 years now 🙂 I'm so glad to see how well you're doing since the days we lived in Bozeman <3 . I wanted to throw in some input on what I use for hygiene products since I've been 'au naturale' aka chemical-free since I was a teenager (my rebellious/wanting to be unconventional stages of believing the FDA was willing to poison all of us led me to figure out these recipes and products early on haha). Anyhoo, for deodorant, I could not agree with you more. I LOVE NATIVE! My favorite is the coconut and vanilla. It's a gentle, subtle and feminine scent. They do have mens scents (for the commenter below) and are priced the same regardless of gender.

For feminine hygiene products I have officially switched over to THINX underwear ( http://www.shethinx.com ). Total game-changer. They feel and look like normal sexy underwear but can hold up to 2 tampons worth of your period. No joke. They don't feel like a diaper or wearing maxi pads. Completely period proof. Houdini-style technology. They are a little spendy to invest in at first but the more you buy, the more you save (called a cycle set). I bought 7 pairs and got 20% off my order with free shipping and a 60 money back guarantee. (I don't work for them, I swear) Super excited that we have come a long way in options for our flow.

My toothpaste is homemade. I use a 60/40 ratio of coconut oil to baking soda mixture (very simple and I've never had a cavity) and add as many drops to your liking of either cinnamon, spearmint or peppermint oil to the batch! I keep it in a small jar (old jam jar or cosmetic glass container) and it keeps for a long time. It works well with automatic toothbrushes too. It doesn't lather up like regular toothpaste but after cleaning your teeth and tongue with it, your teeth feel squeaky clean. When I don't have any made for whatever reason, I use Jason's Powersmile in the Powerful Peppermint flavored paste. It's like a peppermint bomb exploded in your mouth. And my breath is super fresh for a long time afterwards.

Gabriel makes AWESOME makeup products including mascara, eyeliner and powder foundation and great quality nail polish. I love Mineral Fusion's colored lip gloss and lip balms. And I use Pacifica's Dream (blanking on the rest) mascara in black. It has a dual purpose wand and makes your eyelashes look practically false from the length they give.

My body lotion and body wash is Deep Steep's Rosemary mint or Grapefruit Bergamot or their lavender vanilla (ALL of them are amazing, absorbent and completely natural!). I also love good ol' cocoa butter but since giving up a microwave it takes a bit to get it heated in order to use it from the jar. I also really love Giovanni's Tea tree body (but smells minty!) wash from time to time. It lathers up beautifully and makes your skin feel silky smooth.

I can't wait to try your face wash recipe and the face moisturizer. I use MyChelle products right now (they are awesome) but they are a bit spendy.

For hair products, I've tried Giovanni's tangerine hairspray, which worked really well! And shine serum from the ultra moist collection with avocado in it. I feel like Giovanni's got a good thing going with the hair products in general and are a pretty safe bet if someone is wanting to make a a gradual switch to natural hair care.

Shampoo and conditioner I use Shikai's tea tree line. It smells wonderful and lathers really well. For homemade scalp exfoliant, I've used a baking soda paste (add water) mixed with tea tree oil scrubbed on my scalp for a couple minutes then a few cups of ACV to 'lift' the baking soda off my scalp (let the mixture sit for a minute before washing away) and take the impurities with it. Then rinse thoroughly with water. It's like a natural face lift for your head.

These are just some of the things I like to use and can stand by since I've tried them already. I, too, am excited to continue the conversation of homemade products (less packaging is my motivation).

Keep up the great work! xoxo

No nasty chemicals and amazing colors. Some of the products are infused with EOs too. There's peppermint in their lip gloss and a lot of skin friendly EOs in the misting spray.

I just found your site. Love it!!

I use Sally Hansen Hard As Nails clear nail polish. It does't have any formaldehyde in it.

Ha! IT'S SO DAMN EASY, ERIN! Literally 2 minutes of effort. With things you already have in your house. But yes, I could make you some. ;P

Ooh I'll have to try that body scrub! Sounds great! As for the deodorant — they have both men's and women's (I believe it's the same recipe, just different scents), for the same price. I actually have all men's scents because they appealed to me more than the women's!!

That's a crazy statistic about female hygiene products... ugh. NOT COOL! xoxo

I'm a huge fan of coffee grounds, epsom salt, and coconut oil as my intense body scrub once a week. I"m curious about the pricing of the natural deodorant -- female hygiene products are about 40% more than mens (It is why I wear old spice deodorant!), is this the same?
